Archive Birch

Base note · Woody
Birch.
Smoky, tarry bark with a cool leathery edge.
Our read on the material, not a measurement.
What it smells like.
Birch is smoke and tar. The distilled bark smells dark and slightly medicinal, with a cool, hide-like quality that is the traditional route to a leather note in perfumery. It is dry, sharp and quite serious.
In a blend it gives structure and a campfire darkness. It suits rose, it deepens woods, and it makes a fragrance feel rugged. It is not a subtle material and there is nothing sweet or comfortable about it.
In a blend.
Brings smoke and a hard, dry edge. Reads as leather without leather.
Woody. Warm, grounded scents built around woods, resins and depth.
Pairs beautifully with.

We do not offer birch at the bench, but there are notes close to it that we do.
