What it smells like.
Plum is deep and slightly wine-like, jammy and sweet with a faint tartness at the skin. It is heavier and more grown-up than the red berries.
It gives an opening richness rather than lift, and it flatters rose and warm bases. It suits cool weather and it can feel heavy in heat.
