What it smells like.
Blackcurrant is a berry with an edge. It is dark and jammy underneath but the first thing you get is tart, almost catty sharpness and a green leafiness, like the bush as much as the fruit. It is what makes a fruity opening read as adult.
It is the fruit to reach for if you want depth at the top rather than sweetness. Against rose it is a classic and against patchouli it is very good. It has a real failure mode though: paired with cool green resin it curdles and turns sour, which is a combination the studio has already ruled out.

The most interesting fruit here. Blackcurrant is tart rather than sweet and gives an opening real bite. It can turn sour against green or resinous notes.
Fruity. Playful, bright and full of energy.
