Archive Honey

Base note · Sweet
Honey.
Thick golden sweetness with a waxy, faintly animalic edge.
Our read on the material, not a measurement.
What it smells like.
Honey is heavier than sugar sweetness. It is thick and golden, with a waxy, beeswax quality and something faintly animalic underneath that gives it depth and stops it reading as a syrup. It is sweetness with a body.
It works beautifully over florals, particularly rose and orange blossom, where it deepens them into something warmer. It also has a real caution attached: that animalic edge grows on skin, and in a hot climate a honey-heavy blend can go from rich to cloying. Sample it on skin for a full day before committing to a large bottle.
In a blend.
Sweet with a body to it. Honey makes a blend rich and skin-warm. It has a slightly animalic side that not everyone likes.
Sweet. Soft sweetness without overpowering.
