Orange Blossom.
White floral with citrus behind it. Honeyed and clean at once.
Our read on the material, not a measurement.
What it smells like.
Orange blossom is the flower of the bitter orange tree, and it smells like both halves of that: sweet, honeyed white floral with a green citrus lift running through it. It is fresher than jasmine and cleaner than tuberose, and it reads as sunny rather than heady.
It is the natural bridge between a citrus top and a floral heart, which is a join a lot of blends struggle with. Over vanilla or white amber it turns soft and skin-like. Watch the soap risk: orange blossom with tuberose and jasmine together starts to smell like an expensive hand wash.
The blossom of the bitter orange tree gives perfumery two different materials: solvent extraction yields this rich, heady absolute, while steam distillation of the same flowers yields the lighter neroli. Same tree, same petals, two scents. We treat them as the siblings they are.
