What it smells like.
Iso E Super is a modern aroma material rather than a wood extract, and it smells like the idea of wood more than the thing: soft, dry, velvety, with a faint peppery warmth. It is quiet to the point of transparency, and a small number of people genuinely cannot detect it.
What it contributes is polish. It smooths the joins between notes, it makes a formula feel modern and slightly abstract, and it gives everything around it a soft halo. It is a supporting material only. A blend built mostly on Iso E Super will smell like it is missing a centre, and to some noses it will smell like nothing at all.

A texture, not a scent. Iso E Super makes a blend feel smooth and expensive. Some people cannot smell it at all.
