Build with peony at the bench

What it smells like.

Peony is a fresh floral rather than a rich one: light, watery, faintly sweet, with a crisp green edge that reads a little like apple skin. It is closer to the smell of a flower in a garden than a flower in a bottle.

It is useful precisely because it does not dominate. Over woods it keeps a blend feeling light, and it softens sharp citrus without adding weight. It is also easily lost. Behind tuberose, jasmine or coffee you will not notice it is there, so pair it with the quieter half of the bench.

In a blend.

The quietest floral here. Peony keeps a heart soft and modern. If you want the flowers to be the point, it is too shy for that.

Floral. Soft to expressive florals with elegance at their core.
