Our read on the material, not a measurement.

What it smells like.

Sichuan pepper is not really a pepper and it does not behave like one. It is bright and citrus-peel sharp with a distinctive tingling, almost numbing quality, and a woody dryness underneath. It is one of the most recognisable openings in modern perfumery.

It gives a fragrance immediate energy and a slightly unusual edge that stops a fresh blend reading as generic. It suits woods and citrus and it is assertive, so it does not need much beside it.
